Quality assurance and food safety in metal containers
Boxed apps
Mettler Toledo Safeline’s X-ray inspection systems for canned foods provide superior contamination detection for metal canned food and beverage manufacturers. Inspection solutions are available for a variety of applications, box shapes and sizes. Typical applications include baby food, prepared foods, fish and seafood, meat, fruit and vegetables, pet food and beverages.
Quality check in line
In addition to providing contaminant detection, Mettler Toledo Safeline’s X-ray inspection systems for canned foods perform a range of quality checks simultaneously. Systems can simultaneously perform a wide range of quality control functions including filling level monitoring, headspace measurement and container failure detection.
Increased detection
The X-ray system detects glass, metal, mineral rock, high density plastic and calcified bone in canned products. Detecting physical contamination in the bottom or sides of the box, especially if the sides are ridged, can be challenging. The split beam X-ray system overcomes this challenge by imaging each box twice. Each image presents a different viewing angle, which increases the scope of inspection inside the container and increases the detection of impurities.
Easy to integrate into the chain
X-ray inspection systems for canned foods allow the production conveyor to pass through and take up minimal line space. This makes installation quick, easy and cost-effective without creating additional product shipping points. By ensuring the safety and integrity of food containers, X-ray systems help avoid product recalls, protect consumers from unsatisfactory goods, and protect brands and manufacturers’ reputations. .
