Pipeline X-ray inspection solutions improve the safety of pumped food products
Applications in pipelines
Safeline offers in-line X-ray inspection solutions designed specifically for the inspection of pumped food products such as meat and poultry as well as semi-liquid, semi-solid and liquid, in any any stage in processing or before final packaging. Common applications include sauces, jams, ground meats, melted chocolate and buttermilk spreads, as well as products that cannot be sieved – for example, fruit purees and yogurts containing pieces of fruit. .
Superior product safety
Pipeline X-ray inspection equipment provides outstanding safety of pumped food product by detecting and removing physical impurities such as glass, metal, mineral rock, calcified bone and high density plastics in the early stages of production. High-precision X-ray inspection technology reduces the risk of product recalls, protecting consumers and brand reputation.
High throughput capability
Mettler Toledo Safeline’s in-pipe X-ray inspection equipment offers high throughput, automatic calibration and hygienic design. Throughputs for semi-liquids, semi-solids and liquids are up to 18 tons per hour while meat and poultry products can generally be tested at around 9 tons per hour. Pipeline X-ray Systems are designed to automatically adapt to changes in product flow rates and can adjust scan rates and removal times to match production line speeds.
Reduce product waste
Physical contamination detection is often improved in the early stages of the manufacturing process, where unprocessed food can be introduced with a lower thickness and more uniform texture. Removing impurities early in the production process, such as bones in chicken products, helps reduce product waste and lower costs.
